Aurora community raises concerns on social media over car fire early on Thanksgiving morning

Aurora residents are sharing their concerns as a photo of a burning car in a local neighbourhood on early Thanksgiving morning made the rounds on social media.

A dark-coloured vehicle was seen engulfed in flames near a stop sign, as shown in a picture posted in an Aurora Facebook group on the morning of Oct. 10.

The photo was captured at around 2 a.m. on Monday at the corner of Hartwell Way and Cosford Street, according to the resident who posted it.

A fire truck responded to the scene immediately after a call to the police and contained the fire. No one was inside the car, according to the post.

Dozens of people reacted to or commented on the post, raising their concerns about neighbourhood safety.

York Regional Police said no information about the incident is available at the time.
