Have you gotten a chance to meet the Richmond Hill candidates?
Do you have a burning question or two to ask the future decision-makers for the city?
Six all candidates events -- in-person and virtual -- are scheduled for the 44 individuals who are vying for nine positions on Richmond Hill council.
The Richmond Hill Board of Trade has planned three in-person all-candidates events for the upcoming municipal election on Oct. 24.
An in-person event for regional and wards 3 and 4 candidates is slated for Sept. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bayview Hill Community Centre, 114 Spadina Rd.
The second one for mayoral and wards 1 and 2 candidates is scheduled for Oct. 3 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Langstaff Community Centre, 155 Red Maple Rd.
The event for wards 5, 6 and school board trustees will take place Oct. 11 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Langstaff Community Centre.
Meanwhile, the Richmond Hill Council Accountability Group is organizing three virtual events for all candidates in October. A total of 33 of the 44 candidates are expected to participate in the meetings.
At the events, the questions asked will be of a general nature so that all candidates should be able to answer. The questions include ones that were submitted by the residents and drafted by CAG. The questions asked will change for each council position.
Each meeting should be 60 to 90 minutes in length.
The virtual event for mayoral and regional candidates is scheduled for Oct. 6 at 7p.m.
The wards 1 to 4 candidates event will take place on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and the meeting for wards 5 and 6 candidates will take place on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
Details will be posted on on the CAG website: www.cagrichmondhill.com/.
