Dates set for former Richmond Hill mayor Dave Barrow's visitation, memorial services

Dave Barrow, former mayor of Richmond Hill, suddenly died in the morning of Sept. 22, after a short struggle with dementia.

The former mayor is survived by his wife Tomye Anne, his son Greg and daughter Jennifer, and his grandchildren Jack and Lauren and their mother Karen. Barrow was predeceased by his sister Diane, his father Elgin 'Tubby' and his mother Mary, according to an obituary published on the website of Marshall Funeral Home.10720666

Visitation is scheduled to be held at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill, Oct. 2 and 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, 10268 Yonge St., Oct. 4 at 2 p.m.

In Barrow's memory, donations to Richmond Hill Food Bank, Hill House Hospice or OSPCA would be appreciated by his family.

Books of condolence are currently available for the community to sign from until Oct. 3. They are at the main municipal offices, 225 East Beaver Creek Rd., during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at Richmond Hill Public Library’s Central Branch, 1 Atkinson St., during regular business hours.
