As summer winds down, a few of Toronto’s outdoor pools are going to the dogs.

Dogs will soon get a chance to cool off under the sun after the city of Toronto announced that dog-only swim events will occur Sept. 4 and Sept. 11 at select outdoor pools.

The outdoor pool season is slated to end Sept. 11 as summer wraps up. The city said the upcoming two Sundays is slotted for dog-only swims, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Only dogs are allowed to swim in the pool and must be accompanied by an adult 18-years-old or older, according to the city.

One adult can bring up to two dogs maximum and a proof of rabies vaccination is required.

“Dogs displaying aggressive behaviour will be asked to leave the pool area,” says a press release.

The city says they will be accepting donations of peanut butter, freeze-dried treats and toys.

No reservation needed, show up with your dog and splash away.
