On Sept. 7, with assistance from a community advisory committee, the City of Toronto officially established a new “Toronto for all” public education campaign to increase awareness about the continuing reality of antisemitism today.

According to the Toronto Police Service Hate Crime Unit, antisemitism has been the most reported hate crime in Toronto for more than five years in a row.

The campaign asks locals to confront this hatred and help eliminate it. It will be viewable at transit shelters throughout the city and on the City of Toronto's social media channels.

The messaging focuses on the fact that while many Torontonians may imagine that antisemitism is no longer prevalent, the lives of Jewish Canadians are still profoundly impacted, necessitating understanding and participation in stopping this discrimination.

The campaign was put together collaboratively between the city and an array of Jewish community members, leaders and educators.

The campaign website for this 12th “Toronto for All” campaign contains more information and resources.

“Antisemitism profoundly (impacts) the lives of Jewish Torontonians. Therefore, not only are we asking Torontonians to recognize and confront the realities of antisemitism in our city, but also to learn more -- and to join us in striving to end antisemitism. Building a city that is free of discrimination is a responsibility we all share to truly create a Toronto for All,” Karen Mock, chair of the Pearson Centre for Progressive Policy, said in a news release.
