A quick trip to a grocery store can turn into a long wait in a line of cars. An otherwise short daily commute may require much more time on the road. Some residential streets have become thoroughfares during rush hours.

It’s no secret that traffic has long been a top concern among residents in Richmond Hill, and the city wants to hear what specific challenges travellers have faced.

As the City of Richmond Hill is updating plans for its roads, walking and cycling networks and trails, it is seeking public input on their experiences getting around Richmond Hill.

Residents can fill out the short online survey and be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of three $50 gift cards. The contest ends on Sept. 21, 2022. To enter, visit RichmondHill.ca/MovingRH.

Any feedback is welcome, whether you walk to the park, bike to the library, drive to the grocery store or take public transit to work.

The responses to the survey will help guide the Richmond Hill’s Transportation Master Plan update.

This plan will establish a vision for all modes of travel within the community, for current and future residents, to the year 2051. It will also help the city plan for improvements to roads, sidewalks, cycling facilities and recreational trails.

Through this work, the city is aiming to provide a well-connected, sustainable, multimodal and inclusive network for all users including pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and motorists.

Consultation on the Transportation Master Plan will continue in the fall. To receive notifications, subscribe to RichmondHill.ca/MovingRH.
