Boyd Conservation Park is getting a makeover.

Francesco Sorbara, member of Parliament for Vaughan-Woodbridge, announced this news on Aug. 22 to Boyd Conservation Park. The funds will come from an investment from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.

“Investing in the Boyd Conservation Park (BCP) ensures that the residents of Vaughan and all visitors have access to upgraded and accessible outdoor spaces -- for years to come,” said Sorbara in a press release.

The BCP is a 400-hectare property owned and maintained by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Located near the Don and Humber rivers within the City of Vaughan, it offers locals and visitors a bit of nature within the city.

“Our government’s investment totalling $743, 025 in BCP will allow the Toronto Region Conservation Authority to support one picnic shelter, three way-finding kiosks, add 50 new accessible picnic tables, upgrade washrooms, access roads, and pave and repair community access roads and parking lots at the conservation area, thus improve visitor experiences,” added Sorbara.

The initiative will help make the park more accessible.

“This investment from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario will help revitalize Boyd Conservation Park and improve visitor experiences, allowing more people to come together and engage with nature,” said Michael Tolensky, chief financial and operating officer with the TRCA.
