Cornell Bus Terminal in Markham opens Sept. 4

Located just south of Markham Stouffville Hospital, Cornell Bus Terminal will open for service Sunday, Sept. 4.
Here are the facts you need to know about the opening.
WHICH BUS ROUTE WILL SERVICE THE TERMINAL?
The new terminal provides convenient connections to numerous transit routes including the 34-kilometre bus rapid transit network. The terminal will be serviced by the following routes:
YRT Route 1 -- Hwy. 7
YRT Route 2 -- Milliken
YRT Route 9 -- 9th Line
YRT Route 14- 14th Avenue
YRT Route 16 -- 16th Avenue
YRT Route 18 -- Bur Oak
YRT Route 25 -- Major Mackenzie
YRT Route 522 -- Markham Local

Mobility On-Request
Durham Region Transit (DRT) Specialized Services will continue to connect with YRT’s Mobility On-Request Paratransit service at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
As part of future plans, DRT and GO Transit will extend services to the terminal. No timelines of future service expansion by DRT and GO are available at this time.
WHERE IS THE TERMINAL LOCATED?
The terminal located in the heart of Cornell Centre near Hwy. 7 and Ninth Line. It is a short walk from the Markham Stouffville Hospital and the Cornell Community Centre and Library, serving those who live and work in the Markham area and beyond.
HOW DOES THE NEW TERMINAL AFFECT COMMUTERS ON YRT AND VIVA?
With the Cornell Bus Terminal opening Sept. 4, 2022, various YRT routes will be impacted with service changes.
