Sandra Yeung Racco is one of a few notable names running in this year’s election in Vaughan.
Racco currently serves as vice chair of the Smart City Advisory Task Force and chair of the Economic Prosperity Task Force. After being first elected in 2003, Racco is currently the longest-serving Asian female politician in the City of Vaughan and the York Region.
“After careful consideration and reflection on the work and accomplishments I have made over the past 18-plus years as local councillor, and evaluating the progress we, as council, have made as a city, I have the acumen, the ability and the vision to be the next mayor of Vaughan,” said Sandra Yeung Racco in a press release.
She formally announced her platform today:
