Canada’s Wonderland is making fundraising a little more whimsical.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Canada’s Wonderland launched a fundraiser and contest to help the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. The fundraiser takes place until Aug. 16.
Patrons are encouraged to purchase ribbons on which they may write a wish and tie on to one of three Wish Trees on International Street.
Wish Tree ribbons cost $5 each or $20 for five and 100 per cent of the net proceeds will go to SickKids. Each ribbon purchased also allows entry into a draw for prizes, including a VIP tour and Season Pass packages.
“The Wish Trees exemplifies Canada’s Wonderland’s meaningful, creative approach to fundraising for SickKids, providing critical funds to build a new hospital for sick and injured children across Canada,” said Adam Starkman, vice president, corporate partnerships at SickKids Foundation, in a written statement.
Previous initiatives from Canada’ Wonderland like the Charity Duck Campaign and the Yukon Striker First Rider Auction helped raise more than $465,000 in the past.
“We’re proud to continue this support and look forward to the success of this exciting new campaign. We couldn’t do it without the wonderful support of our guests,” said Norm Pirtovshek, Canada’s Wonderland general manager, in a written statement.
