It’s less than 100 days until Brampton voters will cast their ballots in the municipal and school board election on Monday, Oct. 24.

Here are some reminders:

ELIGIBILITY

Individuals eligible to vote need to be Canadian citizens, at least 18 years old on voting day and live in Brampton (or are the owner or tenant of land in Brampton or the spouse of such owner or tenant).

PERSONAL INFORMATION ON VOTERS’ LIST

Voters will be able to check if their information is correct and up-to-date on the city’s website starting Sept. 1.

FIND YOUR WARD

Voters who are unsure about what ward they reside in can check the city’s online map by entering their address. On election day, individuals can vote at any voting location within their ward. Voting location information will be available on the city’s website in September.

WHAT TO BRING ON VOTING DAY

Voters must bring one piece of identification with them showing their name and qualifying Brampton address to vote. Refer to the list of acceptable documents prior to voting.

CAN’T MAKE IT ON OCT. 24?

Advance voting dates: Advance voting will be held Oct. 7 to 9 and Oct. 14 and 15. Advance voting information will be available on the city’s website in September.

Proxy voting: If you are an eligible Brampton voter who can’t make it on voting day or any of the advance voting dates, you can appoint another eligible Brampton voter to vote on your behalf. Any person whose name is on the Voters’ List or who has been added to the Voters’ List may vote by proxy. The city says more information about proxy voting will be available on its website soon.
