York Region is still looking for more businesses to take part in its first comprehensive employment survey in three years, carrying on through the end of August.
The region is asking for more businesses to take part in the survey, which highlights all the businesses in York Region and addresses areas like employment and growth, while also building up the business directory. The survey was conducted annually in 2019 but went on hiatus during the pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge for many small businesses across York Region,” the municipality said on social media July 25. “Take the survey to get your free business listing today and let your community find you.”
The region has an ongoing online survey but is also doing telephone and in-person interviews conducted by summer students. The survey features questions about the details of the business, the number of employees and how long its been running. Including your business in the region’s directory is optional.
The region said it will use the data to monitor economic trends, analyze the business sector and forecast future needs. The region indicated that sensitive information is kept confidential.
Although the survey used to run annually, the region said it will be taken every other year from now on. The survey is available until the end of August.
