TD Music Series: Newmarket's free summer concert series headliner Dwayne Gretzky brings to life the greatest songs of all time, with Aysanabee opening, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr.

Friday, July 15

Board Gaming: Join local board game enthusiasts every other Friday at Cardinal Press Espresso Bar at 200 Main St. Newmarket at 6 p.m. The games are provided and teachers are available, or you bring your games to teach others. Note from organizers: We don't tend to play a lot of 'traditional' board games such as Monopoly, Clue, Sorry! Let them know what you would like to play when you RSVP and they will bring those games.

Newmarket Farmers Market: Farmers, vendors and volunteers create a hive of activity reminiscent of the town’s early years as a new market. A place to buy farm fresh produce, homemade baking, handmade crafts and a great place to meet up with friends over breakfast or lunch. At Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Aurora Farmers Market: Saturdays at Town Park, 64 Wells St from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Teen Challenge Ontario Women's Centre Freedom Ride: Join the motorcycle ride starting and ending at 14430 Bathurst St., Aurora in support of a 12-month, faith-based, in-residence addiction recovery program. Registration fee is $25, with passenger $40. Register now or day of at 8:30 a.m. Ride is approximately 1.25 hours to Super Burger (free water/pop/coffee). Return trip about 1.15 hr. Program start 1:30 p.m. with barbecue lunch, raffle and silent auction, gas card draws. Hear amazing stories from women who have been set free from addiction thanks to the program.

English Country Dance: Join the dance at Trinity United Church, 461 Park Ave. at Main Street, Newmarket from 2 to 4 p.m. Beginners welcome; all dances taught; you don't need to bring a partner. Admission by donation; your first class is free. Join the group on the first, third and (when there is one) fifth Saturday of the month.

Music Festival - The Intro: Main Street Music Hall (Old Flame Brewery, 140 Main St. S., Newmarket) hosts a celebration of rap music with various artists, including TurnXr, $OURCE, Bru Castellano, Tris X, Rose Denim and AxR. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30. All ages welcome, ID must be presented to bartender and a wristband will be given to those 19+. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Lonesome Ace String Band Schindig: The band plays with guest bassist Lotus Wight, and the Lowlies, at an outdoor house concert honouring some of the most original old-time and folk artists. "A sweet little outdoor festival, almost like a private event, but open to the public" with gates opening at 4 p.m., show at 5 p.m., at the Plain House, 4136 Vivian Rd, Cedar Valley. Tickets $38.15. From the band: "Rooted in the belief that music and community make the world a far better place, my Dad and I envisioned a special night of music, to help our family, friends and community stop the world for a brief moment, to share in song and celebrate the beauty in life. Thus, the Cedar Valley Schindig was born, titled with the first three letters of our family name and hosted on land that has been in our family since the 1920s. So bring your favourite people, picnic basket, blanket, and join us."

Blues Hearts: The band plays from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Knights Arms Pub & Grill, 16925 Yonge St., Newmarket.

Newmarket Car Club Show: On Main Street Newmarket from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

5K Nude Colour Fun Run 5K Run/Walk: Register for the run that begins at 11 a.m. at Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park, 20237 Kennedy Rd in Sharon. Read more on Running Room online event registration.

Georgina Farmers Market: Weekly market features about 30 vendors from local farmers and crafters, with live music, yoga in the park and other events at The Link, 20849 Dalton Rd. on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

McMichael Family Sundays Sculpture Parade: Inspired by the whimsical art of Gathie Falk, join a day of discovery and anything-goes creativity. Try your hand at papier-mache and create a sculpture as wild as your imagination to join in a playful art parade through the McMichael’s gardens in Kleinburg. Then enjoy a live music performance, and finish your visit with an outdoor tea party. Art activities and workshops from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performances at 2 p.m. Family Sundays are free with gallery admission.

Museum Mini Garden Pop-up., Thursday, July 21: Elman W. Campbell Museum on Main Street Newmarket hosts a workshop for children from 10 a.m. to noon. Your child can create a dinosaur terrarium, try a scavenger hunt, and have hands-on playtime. Register in advance, $20.

Main Street Pub Experience, Sunday, July 24: Join an afternoon celebrating a few of the food and drink establishments of Main Street Newmarket, including Cachet, Hungry Brew Hops, Made in Mexico, and Old Flame Brewery, with a bonus stop. You will spend an hour at each establishment getting food and drinks at each before you move on to the next one! Tickets, $112, include: a food item and drink; swag bag; lanyard pass; live music at some of the spots.

Metaphysical, Psychic & Wellness Expo, Sunday, July 24: At the Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum at 18974 Leslie St, Sharon, this free event from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. will have more than 50 metaphysical and wellness vendors, readers and healers,food trucks, speakers and live music.

Brew HAHA Comedy Night, Thursday, July 28: Martha Chaves headlines the event by RyGuy Comedy at Old Flame Brewing Co., 140 Main St., Newmarket, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $20, or $25 at the door (includes one beer for ages 19 and older) or pop.

Newmarket's TD Music Series offers free concerts every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the bandshell at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. at Riverwalk Commons.

Aurora's Concerts in the Park offers free concerts Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Town Park (food bank donations welcome).

Richmond Hill's Concerts in the Park offer free entertainment Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at at Mill Pond Park.

Richmond Hill Ribfest July 22 to 24: Ribfest features professional rib teams from across North America cooking and competing for various best titles. In addition to food, enjoy live entertainment and one of the region’s largest midways at Richmond Green Park.

Richmond Hill Live! In the Plaza -- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7 to 9 p.m.
Join the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts this month for a revamped summer music series featuring local artists performing in the theatre’s outdoor plaza on Yonge Street. Tuesday nights feature artists from a range of musical genres and Wednesdays are Open Mic nights.

Sharon Temple car show, Aug. 7: Highway 11 Cruisers Car Club and the Sharon Temple Museum Society host a classic car, truck and bike show at the Sharon Temple, 18974 Leslie St.,  from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event brings hundred of vehicles ranging in make, model, and year. Featuring a barbecue, prizes and awards. Cost $5 to $12, proceeds go to charity.
