Town of Milton holding information session on municipal election Aug. 8

The Town of Milton has announced that it will hold a virtual information session on Aug. 8 for those interested in running in the coming municipal election.

The information session will take place at 6:30 p.m.

It has been designed for anyone considering the position of mayor, regional or local councillor, and English or French school board trustee and features an overview of campaign finance rules, legislative requirements, voting methods and the election sign bylaw.

The session will begin with a presentation by a representative of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, followed by a presentation by Milton town staff.

A question-and-answer period will follow.

The deadline to file a nomination is Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
