Newmarket's Canada Day includes concerts, buskers, fireworks -- and a chance to win Tim Hortons coffee for a year

Hey Newmarket, it’s time to celebrate Canada’s birthday.

If you’re looking to get out and enjoy Canada Day, here’s a list of events going on in town July 1:

RIVERWALK COMMONS

200 Doug Duncan Dr.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The annual Tim Hortons Canada Day Festival featuring live concerts with Ear Candy and Blush, interactive activities for the whole family, rides on the Tim Hortons Express Train, roaming entertainment, buskers, vendors and more.

MAIN STREET

Several festivities during the day

ELMAN W. CAMPBELL MUSEUM

134 Main St. S.

Activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

GEORGE RICHARDSON PARK

Bayview Parkway

7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Newmarket Citizen's Band from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. followed by a live concert from 9 to 10 p.m. featuring the band Switchbeat.

Fireworks will take place from approximately 10:10 to 10:30 p.m.

TIM HORTONS COFFEE FOR A YEAR CONTEST

Participants attending the daytime concert and festival and the evening concert and fireworks will have the opportunity to complete and submit a ballot, while ballot quantities last, for a chance to win coffee for a year (eight $100 gift cards).

One entry per person.

Must be 12-years-old or older.
