York Region is moving forward with a couple of road improvement projects in Georgina.
Both roads, Black River and Old Homestead, remain open but temporary lane closures and restrictions will be in effect during construction
Location: Black River Road between Dalton Road to east of Park Road.
Black River Road construction
JUST THE FACTS
To preserve the road, microsurfacing will be applied to Black River Road. Microsurfacing involves sealing the surface of the road with a mixture of small stones and liquid asphalt cement, which fills in the grooves and indentations on the road;
The road surface can feel rougher and sound nosier after work is complete, but over time the stones knead together and the road surface becomes quieter;
Construction hours: Weekdays 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
Location: Old Homestead Road between Warden Avenue and Station Road.
