The scene was shocking: a high-end Porsche covered with a tarp, a lone shoe beside the vehicle, surrounded by debris.

This could be seen June 9 following a brazen daytime shooting outside a HSBC Bank and and physiotherapist office located at 4500 Hwy. 7, at the intersection with Pine Valley Drive, at 2:07 p.m..

The victim, said to be in his late 40s and the occupant of the Porsche, is in life-threatening condition in hospital.

One employee of a nearby business who did not want her name in the media said the shooting frightened her.

"Yeah, of course, when you hear something like that, it's going to give you a jolt," she said.

Police have no information as of yet on suspects or the suspect's vehicle, which officers say they hope will be released later today.

York Regional Police said they are currently working with the property management company to access surveillance video from the building.

Staff Sgt. David Mitchell implored the public to come forward to solve the city's latest incident of gun violence.

"It's an appeal... to anybody who was in the area at the time, if they could fill in the blanks as far as what happened here just after 2 p.m.," he said. "If you have any information, even Crime Stoppers tips, I've heard people don't want to get involved, if you have any information that will help us solve or reverse engineer what has taken place here, we need you to come forward and help us solve this."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police No. 4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7441, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or by leaving an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com.
