Help create a more sustainable Vaughan

What actions should the City of Vaughan and its community members take to increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions and mitigate climate change? Have your say by getting involved in the City’s Municipal Energy Plan Revision. The Municipal Energy Plan is a strategic document and action framework that outlines how the City can transition to a low-carbon community and become more sustainable. There are multiple ways to join the conversation, including:

attending two virtual community workshops on Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, July 21 to share your feedback through a series of facilitated engagement activities.
completing an online survey until Sunday, June 5. The survey will collect input on proposed actions the City and Vaughan residents can take to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Take the survey for your chance to win one of two three-month Fitness Memberships or one of two single-use Activity Passes! For full contest rules and details, please visit vaughan.ca/MEP.

Help inform future plans for the VMC

The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is the largest and most ambitious development project in the City’s history -- and the downtown core is transforming quickly. With rapid growth, increased interest in residential developments, an expanding workforce and growing visitor and commuter numbers, the City of Vaughan has initiated an update to the existing VMC Secondary Plan -- and your help is needed! Visit vaughan.ca/VMCPlan to review a recorded presentation and participate in digital idea storming to share your preferred land use option. The presentation and digital idea storming will be available until Tuesday, June 14. Input provided will help City staff understand the public’s priorities and further refine the plan.

Did you recently have your say?

As engagement opportunities continue, the City has launched an Engagement Feedback Survey to collect input on Vaughan’s engagement practices -- what project did you get involved in? How did you participate? How was your experience? Were you informed? Did you feel listened to? Complete the online survey to provide input into how the City can make its engagement process even better. The survey will be open throughout 2022 and can be accessed through vaughan.ca/HaveYourSay.
