During the pandemic, the town temporarily waived the need for bag tags and increased the number of garbage bags residents can put to the curb.

To boost waste diversion efforts, Georgina is returning to the bag tag program -- with a twist.

Here’s what you need to know about the revised garbage bag tag program, when it starts and how it will impact you:

What is the garbage bag tag program?
Starting the week of July 4, residents can put two free garbage bags or containers to the curb for pickup.

Any additional waste items or large items require a bag tag.

Does this mean a change in the garbage pickup schedule?
No.

Garbage pickup remains the same -- every other week.
