Whether you are looking to get rid of some extra items or find a few new treasures, Newmarket's curbside giveaway day will have something for everyone.

On Saturday, May 28 residents are invited to place gently used items they are ready to part with out at their curb for fellow residents to take free of charge. The items should be marked with a sign indicating they are free and put out around 7 a.m. The town has free printable signs on their website for labelling.

If you are planning on putting out an item, the town said you should use discretion. The pieces should still be in good shape or able to be easily repaired and re-used. You should not put out any garbage or items that could be infested with bed bugs.

For those going around the see if you can score some free treasures, the giveaway starts early in the morning and typically wraps up at 5 p.m.

Curbside giveaway days are also taking place in neighbouring York Region municipalities. Tomorrow, giveaways will happen in Aurora, Georgina, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville.

If you are unable to take part in this giveaway day, there will be others happening monthly through to October.

More details are available on the Town of Newmarket's website.
