Schomberg Main Street is turning into a sidewalk market on four Saturdays starting May 14.

Sidewalkable Saturdays takes place May 14, June 11, July 9 and Aug. 13 and will see Main Street businesses are taking their stores to the sidewalk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Businesses will offer a range of deals including farmhouse decor and handmade art. Shoppers will be able to enjoy other attractions such as live entertainment and workshops as well.

“Sidewalkable Saturdays will have a positive impact on Main Street businesses as they continue to adapt to COVID-19," Mayor Steve Pellegrini said. "Bringing the community together to enjoy an engaging event with irresistible sales would be a great boost for the businesses down Schomberg’s Main Street.”

A frog-calling workshop will start off the day hosted by the Dufferin Marsh Committee’s founding member Mary Asselstine. The educational workshop includes a venture through the marsh while learning about frog and toad-calling techniques.

Restaurants and coffee shops on Main Street will also be offering sidewalk specials.
