Laura Mirabella is an accountant who has spent the last 20 years in senior public service roles including CFO for the City of Vaughan and York Region. She has also spent 10 years in the private sector with a major professional advisory firm, and as a small business consultant

Thornhill’s big issues according to Mirabella:

Housing - Ford has stomped all over locally approved plans for density that makes sense. Through his continued abuse of the MZO system with a plan to build 67 towers, of up to 80 stories with  no requirement for affordable housing, insufficient infrastructure and community amenities, and very little in the way of employment opportunities. Other issues:

Yonge subway extension and the pandemic.

Conservative: Laura Smith

Smith is a seasoned legal professional, having owned and managed a litigation support company within the GTA.  Smith is a director with the Thornhill Thunder Soccer Club and a former vice president of a local co-operative nursery school. Smith has worked alongside  Member of Provincial Parliament, Gila Martow as the president of Thornhill’s PC’s Riding Association.
