Students from Town Centre Private Schools picked up trash at Highgate Park

Students and volunteers are working together to keep Markham beautiful.

As part of Earth Day activities on April 22, the Grade 8 classes of Town Centre Private Schools participated in an Earth Day cleanup at Highgate Park in connection with an IB Middle Years Programme Community Project.

Earth Day is an annual global event that aims to bring awareness to environmental issues. The TCPS team collected garbage filling several bags with the refuse.

Ward 8 Councillor Isa Lee stopped by the park for a meet and greet with the students. It was gratifying for the students to be personally thanked by the councillor for pitching in to help keep Markham beautiful.
