Tributes to Eagles, Abba, Spice Girls among Newmarket's free summer concert lineup

Tributes to Bob Marley, Abba, the Spice Girls and more will be at Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons this summer for the return of the town's free concert series.
The TD Newmarket Music Series, which runs from July 7 to Sept. 1, features local musicians opening for a series of tribute and cover band performers every Thursday.
"We’re excited to feature this list of amazing musical talent that will create energy-packed Thursday evening concerts all summer long," the town said in a news release.
The lineup includes:
July 7: Hotel California, an Eagles tribute. Opener: The Beresfords.
July 14: Dwayne Gretzky. Opener: Aysanabee
July 21: Wannabe, a Spice Girls tribute. Opener: Bianca Rollo Band.
July 28: Green River Revival, a CCR tribute. Opener: Bernadette Connors
Aug. 4: Fleetwood Mac Mania. Opener: Lacey Hill
Aug 11: Exodus, a Bob Marley tribute. Opener Lyle Kam
Aug. 18: ABBA revisited. Opener: Blush
Aug. 25: Blushing Brides, a Rolling Stones tribute. Opener: Glenn Marais and the Mojo Train
Sept. 1: Sounds of Motown. Opener: David Toms
“Going to be a great summer,” local pianist David Toms said on Facebook. “Congrats to all my musical colleagues, and looking forward to your performances. Big thanks to the Town of Newmarket for bringing back this great music series.”
The concerts will run from approximately 6 to 9 p.m. The town asks you to bring your own lawn chair if attending and arrive early to secure a spot. The town said parking will be limited due to volume.
You can donate non-perishable food items to the Newmarket Food Pantry at the concerts, with donation bins located at a town booth at the Riverwalk Commons.
