The Town of Aurora is hosting the town’s first electric vehicle showcase on May 1.

The town has partnered with Ivy Charging Network and Plug’n Drive to present the showcase at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, 1400 Wellington St. East, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with experts, learn about electric vehicles and take test drives in a sales-free environment. There is no cost for admission to the showcase and test drives don’t require pre-registration.

Members of the Electric Vehicle Society and other local electric vehicle owners will be available to show their vehicles and answer questions related to such things as range anxiety, battery life, maintenance costs and everyday use.

Other information booths will be set up to provide the latest news on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, savings programs and town sustainability initiatives.

The Town of Aurora is prioritizing green infrastructure to support the change to zero emissions driving with a number of public charging stations in Aurora and a new set of green development standards outlining electric vehicle charging infrastructure for new development to be released later in 2022.
