Vaughan’s emerging downtown core -- the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) -- is home to Vaughan’s first university, first subway station and, now, a new state-of-the-art recreation facility and library. On Monday, April 25, the City of Vaughan, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the YMCA will open the doors to the new David Braley Vaughan Metropolitan Centre of Community -- and you’re invited to check it out!
Drop by that day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a guided tour of the Vaughan Studios & Event Space and between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. to explore the new VPL branch and take a self-guided tour. Staff will be on-site to help answer any questions. The official opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event will take place in June. Stay tuned for further event details!
The facility includes the City’s newest recreation venue -- Vaughan Studios & Event Space, VPL’s latest branch -- the VMC Library and VMC Express Library -- and a YMCA recreation facility. Located in the heart of the VMC at 200 Apple Mill Rd., it is just steps away from the VMC subway station, making it easily accessible to the entire community.
