Police allege they caught teenagers recklessly speeding in vehicles belonging to their parents in two separate incidents in York Region recently.
First, Ontario Provincial Police sent out an Instagram post from Aurora April 17 describing an 18-year-old driving 184 km/h on Hwy. 400 in his dad's car.
Then, York Regional Police said on Twitter that officers tracked down an 18-year-old driving his mother's Porsche at 147 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in Vaughan at 12:30 a.m. April 19.
Both drivers will lose their licences for 30 days and the vehicles for 14 days, according to the posts.
The posts come weeks after a teenage driver was sentenced to serve time in a youth facility after losing control of a vehicle and killing two children who were playing in their driveway in Vaughan.
He was speeding in his father's high-powered Mercedes in the lead up to the crash.
