The annual Ontario public salary disclosure list -- the “Sunshine List” -- catalogues each public employee earning $100,000 or more.

In East Gwillimbury, 55 employees earned $100,000 or more, excluding any taxable benefits paid. That’s about a four per cent increase compared to 2020 numbers.

Of the town’s Sunshine List employees, 16 work in the fire department, including 12 firefighters.

Mayor Virginia Hackson earned $131,028, including $59,600 from York Region. Her Salary does not include about $12,200 in benefits.

That works out to about $3.78 per East Gwillimbury residents -- one of the highest mayor salaries to resident ratios in the region.

There are two East Gwillimbury employees who earned more than $200,000 in 2021.

$251,317 -- Chief administrative officer, Thomas Webster;

$221,196 -- Deputy CAO, general manager strategic initiatives and partnerships, Mark Valcic;

$190,394 -- Town solicitor, Dean Horner; general manager parks recreation and culture, Aaron Karmazyn; and general manager infrastructure and environmental services, Mike Molinari.
