The annual public salary disclosure list -- the 'Sunshine List' -- catalogues each public employee earning $100,000 or more.

In Whitchurch-Stouffville, 63 employees earned $100,000 or more, excluding any taxable benefits paid.

That’s about a 10.5 per cent increase compared to 2020 numbers. Whitchurch-Stouffville had the third highest increase in employees earning $100,000 or more in the region -- after a 38 per cent increase in Aurora and a 28 per cent increase in King Township.

Of the town’s Sunshine List employees, 28 are in the fire department, including 15 firefighters.

Mayor or councillors were not included on the list. According to the town’s 2020 remuneration statement for mayor and councillors, Mayor Iain Lovatt’s salary from the town was $154,849, including $58,167 from York Region. That does not include excluding about $34,800 in benefits.

That amounts to about $3.10 per Whitchurch-Stouffville resident -- the third highest mayor salary to resident ration in the region after King Township and East Gwillimbury.

The town’s 2021 remuneration statement is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

The top five Whitchurch-Stouffville employees include: (excluding benefits)

$240,664.20 -- Chief administrative officer, Robert Adams;

$199,123.22 -- Town solicitor, Joshua Silver; and deputy chief administrative officer, Robert Raycroft;

$181,497.77 -- Fire Chief, William Snowball; and
