King Township is already getting prepared for the municipal election in October.

The township is asking voters to visit www.voterlookup.ca to check if they are on the voters’ list in advance of the municipal election on Oct. 24, 2022.

In order to be eligible to vote in the next King election voters must be at least 18 years of age or older on election day, a Canadian citizen, a resident of King Township or owner or tenant of property in King Township or the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in King Township and not otherwise prohibited from voting in a municipal election under any law, according to the township.

“The township of King is getting ready for the Oct. 24 municipal elections that include election of mayor and members of council and school board trustees. One of the most important things voters can do right now is to visit the Voter Lookup website provided by MPAC and make sure they are on the voters' list. Each vote counts,” said King’s clerk Kathryn Moyle.

Voter Lookup is managed by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, and it’s responsible for identifying all potential municipal and school board electors. MPAC provides this information to election staff.

By logging into voterlookup.ca, eligible electors can confirm or update their electoral information, add an elector name and address and change school support for the purpose of voting in a school board election.
