UPDATE: Pedestrian struck by pickup truck in Vaughan suffers life-threatening injuries

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Vaughan the afternoon of March 30.
The victim, a man, was conscious when transported to hospital but his injuries are considered life-threatening, York Regional Police said.
According to police, the pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk on Major Mackenzie Drive at Via Romano Boulevard by a blue F150 truck.
YRP closed traffic lanes eastbound and westbound from Bathurst Street to Dufferin Street for an investigation after the collision at around 12:40 p.m.
A man driving the truck remained at the scene. He was not injured.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.
