The City understands that public consultation is a vital part of the city-building process. This is why teams across the organization work to provide public engagement opportunities for citizens. Input collected is used to help inform municipal decisions and shape the future of Vaughan.

Advancing transit options in Concord
The City is working to improve mobility options throughout the community. This includes advancing and connecting transit options via a potential new GO station in the general area of Highway 7 on the Barrie GO rail line. A GO station in this location would connect GO Transit users to York Region’s existing Viva Bus Rapid Transit network and to the TTC subway station in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre -- and the City wants to hear from you. Vaughan residents, transit riders, visitors and business owners are once again invited to have their say by attending a virtual Public Information Session on Tuesday, March 29 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Attendees will learn more about the land use planning and transportation studies underway and provide feedback on the information presented. If you are unable to attend the session, you can still get involved -- presentation materials will be posted online at vaughan.ca/ConcordGO for review and comment from Wednesday, March 30 until Wednesday, April 13.

A new local off-leash dog area is coming to Thornhill
Where should a local off-leash dog area be located in Thornhill? The City is looking to develop another local off-leash dog area in the community and is asking residents to help identify a preferred spot. Three potential parks east of Bathurst Street are under consideration -- York Hill District Park (330 York Hill Blvd.), Winding Lane Park (580 York Hill Blvd.) and Gallanough Park (21 Springfield Way). To have your say on which of the three proposed locations would be the best fit, visit vaughan.ca/DogPark. Citizens can complete the online survey to review the three options under consideration, provide feedback and apply to join the Off-leash Dog Area Stewardship Program. The survey will be available until Tuesday, April 12.

Improving Vaughan’s stormwater facilities
The City is committed to enhancing its communities and fostering sustainable growth for generations to come -- and that includes making improvements to its stormwater management ponds. The following four stormwater locations will be improved in 2022 through the Stormwater Management Facility Improvements Program: Villa Park Pond, Accumen Investments Pond, Harmonia Pond and Saddle Tree Crescent Outfall. Two virtual sessions are being hosted on Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31 (both at 7 p.m.) for citizens to learn more about these projects, including proposed work, design options, construction impacts, benefits and timelines.
