Ajax Black-owned business directory is now available

A new directory featuring around 70 local local Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs is now available.

The 2022 Black-Owned Business Directory, produced by the Ajax Anti-Black Racism (AABR) Task Force highlights a wide variety of services from arts, culture and entertainment to personal care and restaurants.

This collection is a one-stop resource for Ajax residents and the greater Durham community to discover and support Black-owned businesses.

“We hope that through it, the wonderful businesses within Ajax’s Black community will gain greater exposure to be discovered by potential customers, with increased accessibility for online service and product location," said Mariska Thomas, chair of the AABR "New or existing Black-owned businesses are always welcome to be featured -- the more, the merrier.”

The directory includes more than traditional shops; it showcases web and home-based companies working hard to be seen and heard.
