If you are planning your commute on Rutherford Road between Melville Avenue and Highway 400, then you should know that it will be reduced to two lanes starting on March 22.
JUST THE FACTS
- Crews are working on replacing/repairing four existing culverts (tunnels) running under Rutherford Road.
- Rutherford Road between Melville Avenue and Highway 400 will be reduced to two lanes starting at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22 until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 28.
- There will be one lane in each direction for vehicular traffic; a paid duty officer will be on site the day of the lane changes to direct traffic and help mitigate driver confusion.
- The pedestrian walkway will be shifted to the north side of Rutherford Road, with no restrictions on turning.
- Access will be maintained for all driveways/entrances.
- Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
- As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather.
