The town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has launched myStouffville, a web-based experience for residents to find municipal information and services.

By signing into the secure online portal, residents can build and personalize their own unique myStouffville home page with a customizable set of widgets -- each designed to seamlessly integrate with Stouffville’s primary website -- townofws.ca, and provide up-to-date service notices, news, forms, registrations, events and opportunities to get involved in the community.

After creating a profile with myStouffville, users can view information and receive notifications relevant to their specific neighbourhood, across the municipality and about their specialized municipal interests. Accessible any time from the comfort of home or on the go, myStouffville offers a wide suite of services all from one digital dashboard, bringing a fully tailored and unique experience to each individual and family.

“MyStouffville kick-starts Stouffville into a new digital era,” Stouffville Mayor Iain Lovatt said. “Not only does it give residents the ability to easily view town information, but it allows them to customize that information. Don’t need our recreation schedules? Remove it and replace it with something else you do need -- job postings or waste schedules.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve communication between the municipality and our community -- and this is a huge step,” Lovatt said.

The platform, tailored for mobile devices, is composed of widgets, including those that allow residents to:

View waste and recycling schedules based on address

Subscribe to a variety of news releases and special notices

View special event and council meeting calendars

Link to parking permit and ticket information

Link directly to ongoing community engagement projects and initiatives

View and apply for current career opportunities

Find and register for recreation and community programs

Find and download applications for various permits and licences

Report an issue within the community

“This is really just the beginning,” said Glenn Jackson, Stouffville communications officer and project lead for the development. “We start small and grow from here. For example, the next phase will have residents’ tax and water billing information directly linked to their account.

“In addition to those updates, we have plans to launch three new digital entities in the coming weeks and months,” he said.

Jackson also notes that the town’s online community engagement platform, Come Together Whitchurch-Stouffville, has been redesigned.

“These two platforms integrate seamlessly -- find your child’s swim schedule on myStouffville, then submit your comments about our short-term rental study on Come Together. It’s actually quite easy!” Jackson said.

Both myStouffville and Come Together WS are now live, but both will continue to evolve and improve based on resident feedback. In the coming months, myStouffville will be a launching pad for all the town’s digital services.

“This truly is just the beginning,” Jackson said.

The new portal can be accessed at mystouffville.ca. Help and support information is available at townofws.ca/mystouffville. Come Together WS can be accessed at cometogetherws.ca. An account is not necessary, but encouraged as it improves the user experience.
