As one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, Vaughan is rapidly changing -- and the City is asking its residents to share their opinions on a variety of city-building initiatives. The input collected will be used to help inform municipal decisions, and shape the future of Vaughan. There are currently two main areas where the City is looking for specific input, as well as a general input area for any other city-building related concerns.

The first item that the City is looking for input on is the Bartley Smith Greenway Trail. You can have a say on how the City should close a three-kilometre gap in the trail between McNaughton Road and Rutherford Road. Vaughan residents are invited to review an online recording and presentation slides that review the work on the trail completed to date, and to learn about the proposed trail route. The presentation will be made available online on February 25 with a link to an online mapping tool to share your feedback until March 7, 2022. For all information related to this project, click here.

The City is also looking for general input on what Vaughan residents would like to see the city become over the next 30 years. The City of Vaughan’s Official Plan Review will guide the community’s growth into 2051. As the review progresses, an online Vision Survey is now available for public input until March 16, 2022. The survey asks citizens to identify priorities and share their ideas and hopes for Vaughan’s future. You can take the survey here.

Finally, the City is also looking for resident input on traffic and speed management in Vaughan. Through a previous survey, residents helped inform the traffic and speed mitigation options for the area. Now, the community is invited to attend a virtual Public Information Session on Thursday, March 3 at 7PM. Participants will view a presentation, learn about findings collected to date, understand next steps, and provide input. Register and submit questions in advance here.
