The pandemic has been a challenge for many businesses from lack of revenue and labour shortages to the need to pivot and learn how to set up an e-commerce shop.

Georgina is committed to providing pandemic recovery assistance to all businesses.

Have your say on future economic development and tourism initiatives.

The town wants your input on additional areas of support required to help your business recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While many programs from all levels of government have provided specific business support, Georgina’s economic development department is hosting a survey for local businesses to gage immediate business needs.

Local businesses are encouraged to fill out the online survey, or contact the town’s economic department ed@georgina.ca. The survey closes March 1.

The town is also accepting applications for its festival and event grant program for late summer or fall events.

Applicants could received up to $5,000 for their event. Applications should be submitted 120 days prior to the event.

The town offers a number of programs to help with the recovery stage including: grants to help offset costs associated with the pandemic; one-on-one consultations with the town’s economic development staff; business improvement area specific support an incentives to help revitalize the downtown areas; and marketing support.
