Improvements are coming to spruce up Kleinburg Village, also known as the Jewel of Vaughan for its historic appeal.
The City of Vaughan has scheduled a virtual public information session on Thursday, Feb. 10, beginning at 7 p.m., to discuss those improvements.
Residents who attend the session will get to to review conceptual design plans, view planned streetscape improvements and hear about project benefits, outcomes, construction scope and timelines.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their feedback with the project team.
The infrastructure upgrades will include a water main replacement, road reconstruction, building new cycling facilities, creating new parking areas, enhancing roadway and pedestrian lighting, and streetscaping and landscaping features.
The areas that are going to be improved are Islington Avenue from Highway 27 to Major Mackenzie Drive West, Nashville Road from Highway 27 to Islington Avenue, and Stegman’s Mill Road from Islington Avenue to Teston Road.
Design work for the project is currently underway, and is scheduled to be completed by December 2022. Construction will begin in early 2023 and is anticipated to take eight to 12 months to complete.
