York University has begun discussions with the City of Vaughan on the establishment of a physical presence in the Vaughan Healthcare Centre Precinct. The land-use talks include the transformation of 82 acres into a health, preventative medicine, and community care centre, as well as the possible creation of a School of Medicine focused on training primary care physicians. “Engaging the York community as well as the external communities we serve in a discussion about the Vaughan Healthcare Centre Precinct and the new School of Medicine is an exciting opportunity to explore how York can continue to advance our University Academic Plan and drive positive change,” said YorkU President Rhonda L Lenton.
