Walk-in appointments and Pfizer doses now available at all York Region vaccine clinics

The clinics are open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for first, second and booster doses

All York Region-led COVID-19 vaccine clinics are now accepting walk-ins for first, second, and booster doses, and all have supplies of the Pfizer vaccine.

Eligible individuals are now able to receive a vaccine dose at any of the community clinics, including the one  at the Newmarket Community Centre on Doug Duncan Drive, without making an appointment as of Jan. 29.

The other community clinics are located at the Georgina Ice Palace at 90 Wexford Dr. in Georgina, Aaniin Community Centre at 5665 14th Ave. in Markham, Richmond Green Sports Centre 1300 Elgin Mills Rd. in Richmond Hill, and Maple Community Centre at 10190 Keele St. in Vaughan.

The Pfizer vaccine, which previously was limited to children due to limited supply, is now available for anyone 12 and older at these clinics. Moderna is also available for those 30 and older who wish to receive it. Children aged five to 11 will continue to receive the pediatric Pfizer vaccine.

Residents can also make appointments at other partner-led clinics in York Region, using the provincial booking system. This includes the clinics at Ray Twinney Recreation Centre in Newmarket operated by the Southlake Community Health Team, Cornell Community Centre in Markham run by the Eastern York Region North Durham Health Team and Oak Valley Health, and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in Vaughan operated by PureHealth Pharmacy.
