Georgina firefighters battle serious house fire on Lake Drive in Georgina

Georgina Fire and Rescue Services is on scene combatting a house fire on Lake Drive East in Georgina in the afternoon of Feb. 7.

Heavy smoke can be seen coming from a house that is being renovated on Lake Simcoe, east of Trivetts Rd., at 2:30 p.m.

Fire crews are on scene, and are combatting the fire from outside.

There are no occupants inside the home, as it is under renovation.

Deputy Fire Chief Michael Rozario is on scene.

Paramedics are also on scene, and York Regional Police has closed off certain parts of Lake Drive.

A representative from Georgina Fire told Yorkregion.com to check back for more details, as the fire is ongoing.

There are no injuries to report at this time.
