A blockade of a different sort clogged up City of Vaughan roads last night -- but they weren’t truckers.
While Toronto authorities were moving trucks and crowds out of downtown, a convoy of cows moseyed onto King-Vaughan Road and Pine Valley Drive, causing York Regional Police to declare a driving hazard just after midnight Feb. 6.
After about an hour of careful negotiations, police were able to steer the cows back home and declare the roadway safe for drivers again.
It is not clear what the cattle obstructionists were protesting and who exactly they had a beef with.
The cows, who were eastbound, appeared headed to the local MacDonalds, reported YRP Insp. Kevin Stoby.
“They were not violent.”
