Are you wondering what development plans are in the works in Aurora?

The town has launched a new online planning application status map to help residents find out in real time where development proposals such as subdivision and condo bids, site plan applications and zoning bylaw amendments stand.

Residents can access the map from a computer or mobile device.

The map makes it easy to search for a planning application by navigating to its location or by typing an address into the search bar. The map also has a downloadable table that shows all the applications in detail.

The information listed on the map includes the applicant’s name, address, a brief description of the proposal, land use type, application status, file number, contact information on the assigned town planner and any other attachments relevant to the application.

This will provide the public with all the application information right at their fingertips, the town said in a statement.

“This is a great move forward for the town as we improve our online services to better serve the public,” Mayor Tom Mrakas said.

“The map promotes transparency and innovation by giving residents the opportunity to easily find imperative information about upcoming developments.”
