Fatal head-on collision in Woodbridge leaves 1 person dead

One person is dead following a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Teston Road in Woodbridge.

According to York Regional Police, the collision occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Jan. 12 when a Mercedes collided with a Hyundai sedan.

Police have closed Teston Road from Weston Road to Pine Valley Drive. The stretch of roadway is expected to be closed for several hours for a police investigation.

No injuries have been reported beyond the deceased victim, according to Staff-Sgt. Andree Vincent.

Police are not releasing the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.

Motorists in the area are advised to seek alternate for the next several hours.
