Following the provincial government’s decision to open a dedicated booster clinic in Mississauga for educational workers and staff, two more clinics have been announced in Peel Region.

Ten targeted clinics are being set up in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA) and are being operated by FH Health.

The clinic in Brampton is operating at 234 Queen St. E. Unit 24 and in Mississauga at 6585 Airport Rd., both are open seven days a week.

Only Ontario education and child care staff including educators, custodial staff and administrative staff, school bus drivers and child-care staff can access these clinics.

Appointments are also open to staff outside the GTHA, though the province said they are working with public health units “to plan and provide access” to booster shots.

Select pharmacies are offering boosters for 18-plus, said the province, with the opportunity to reach out to school principals and child-care operators to “advertise opportunities within their catchment area.”

“We ask that school boards make schools aware that this outreach may occur and promote any local pharmacy vaccination opportunities to staff,” said the province.

The International Centre in Mississauga is also offering dedicated booster shots for educational workers seven days a week, from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Eight other clinics operated by FH Health are also open for educational staff in Toronto, Hamilton, Oakville, Pickering, Richmond Hill and Vaughan.

Those looking for appointments can use the FH health website and select “Ontario education and child-care staff vaccine appointments.”
