The town is expanding its works yard in Egypt.

JUST THE FACTS:

Location: Existing Egypt Works Yard located at 25765 Park Rd., south of Hwy. 48;

Expansion of the existing works yard includes a 2,800 square-foot expansion, expanded administrative area to accommodate about 25 to 30 town staff with space for physical distancing as well as improved ventilation;

The expansion would allow the town to provide more responsive road-related services in the area;

The town received about $507,000 in grant funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP): COVID-19 Resilience Stream;

ICIP is a 10-year, $30-billion, multi-government grant program dedicated to improving public transit, recreation services and other priority infrastructure;

Additional funding above $507,000 grant funding will be funded through development charges;

Construction is ongoing and is expected to be complete by the summer.
