King closes all non-essential services Jan. 5 amid COVID-19 pandemic

King Township is following provincial health directives because of COVID-19 by making changes to its non-essential services.

Beginning Jan. 5 all non-essential in-person services will be temporarily unavailable until at least Jan. 26, which is the earliest date set by the provincial government.

King’s arenas, community centres, fitness programs, indoor activities, King Township Municipal Centre and the King Heritage and Cultural Centre will be closed.

The King Township Public Library will be operating at a reduced capacity. More information can be found at www.kinglibrary.ca.

Residents can continue to do business in King Township online, by phone or email. Visit the township’s website at www.king.ca, call at 905-833-5321 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or email at serviceking@king.ca.

All essential services, including fire and emergency services, water, wastewater, waste collection, bylaw enforcement and road and sidewalk maintenance will continue.
