A new mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be opening in Newmarket at the Newmarket Community Centre at 200 Doug Duncan Dr.

Bookings can be made starting on Jan. 5 at 8:30 a.m., including booster doses for eligible individuals age 50 and up, with at least three months after receipt of a second dose.

According to York Region Public Health's Jan. 4 media release, the region expects to expand eligibility for booster doses to include people ages 18 to 49-years-old beginning Jan. 10. "Additional details and booking times will be shared, once available," the media release states.

Starting tomorrow, 14,600 appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations across all clinics, including this new locations will be available to be booked, also for first and second-dose vaccinations for people ages five and up.

Opening this mass mass vaccination clinic at the Newmarket Community Centre will replace the small COVID-19 vaccination clinic located in the York Region Administrative Centre Great Hall and allow for greater capacity to support increased vaccination efforts to eligible individuals.

Appointments can be booked at york.ca/COVID19Vaccine or by calling Access York at 1-877-464-9675. Interpretation services are available. Given the expected high volume of web activity and telephone support, wait times may be longer than usual and service disruptions on york.ca may occur.
