Latest plans for Newmarket's Mulock Park will be presented at Dec. 9 community Facebook meeting

Wondering what’s the latest on the Mulock Park, Newmarket’s ambitious plans for the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Mulock Drive?

Then tune into the town’s community Facebook presentation Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

Last spring, consultants, PLANT Architect Inc. presented the final master to the community and received council approval for the $40-million project.

Since then, the design team and town staff have been deep in schematic design work, which includes a review of different design concepts, working through ideas about site ecology, building layouts, environmental sustainability, flow of people, cyclists and vehicles and more.

They are now wrapping the schematic design phase and will move into the design development phase, which will continue into the middle of 2022.

At the Facebook meeting, the consultant will present an update on the project.
