So, this is a list but not of the 'who's been naughty or nice?' variety. No. This is an equally important short list of what's open or closed in York Region over the holidays.
OPEN
SHOPPING MALLS
Most malls are open Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and closed Christmas Day. Here's a small sampling of holiday hours for York Region shopping malls:
Upper Canada -- Christmas Eve: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Christmas Day: Closed; Boxing Day: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Vaughan Mills -- Christmas Eve: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Christmas Day: Closed; Boxing Day: 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
Markville Mall -- Christmas Eve: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Christmas Day - Closed; Boxing Day: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.;
Other Retail
The Beer Store:
Dec. 24: Select stores open early at 9 a.m. and all stores close at 6 p.m.; Dec. 25: All stores close; Dec. 26: Select stores open 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The following York Region locations are open Boxing Day 11 a.m.-5 p.m.: Aurora (14800 Yonge St.), Bradford (452 Holland St. W.), Keswick (443 The Queensway S.), Maple (9771 Jane St.) and Newmarket (1100 Davis Dr.)
LCBO:
Christmas Eve: All stores close at 6 p.m.; Christmas Day: All LCBO stores close; Boxing Day: Select stores will be open.

Loblaws
Stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 in accordance with the mandatory retail business closure guidelines. Hours may vary throughout the holiday season at some locations so customers should check their local store website to avoid any inconvenience.
Here are Metro’s holiday hours:
Fri. Dec. 24: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sat. Dec. 25: All stores closed ; Sun. Dec. 26: Hours vary and some locations will be closed. Check metro.ca for the hours of your local store.
Sobey’s and No Frills both only mention that they are closed on Christmas Day on their websites.
CLOSED
BANKS
All banks are closed Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and Dec. 26 (Boxing Day).
Here’s a small sample of bank hours:
TD BANK
All branches close at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve. All branches are also closed: Dec. 25-28.
SCOTIABANK
Scotiabank is closed: Dec. 25, 27, 28.
BANK OF MONTREAL
BMO branches will be closed Dec. 25 to 27.
